After her divorce, Noelle Al Saffan (29 years old) moves to the city to start her life over. Because of her love of “true crime” podcasts, she takes a clerical job in a police station, digitizing all their old files. It is mundane work, but everything changes when they discover the body of a teenage girl, still in her school uniform, and need a female present when they check the body. There is nothing to indicate who the girl was or where she came from. No one comes to claim her, most likely because the family is ashamed of the circumstances surrounding her death and don’t want their personal issues out in public. Noelle is haunted by the girl’s senseless death, and races against time to solve it. She decides to go out and start looking for clues to help identify the victim.
